New York’s Daily Gazette reported on a potential merger between Schenectady’s Ellis Medicine and St. Peter’s Health Partners, and the lack of information about future implications. President and CEO Kim Callinan noted, “Patients nearing the end of life, seeking compassionate care — such as voluntarily stopping eating and drinking, palliative sedation, withdrawal of care — may no longer have access to these options.”
