Message from the President and CEO

The tragic murders of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and David McAtee these past weeks shine a glaring light, yet again, on the alarming racism and discrimination that plague our country. Our hearts go out to all who live your life knowing that the color of your skin makes you a target of hate.

At Compassion & Choices, we remain committed to realizing racial justice at life's end which means ensuring that everyone (regardless of their race or ethnic origin) is able to access end-of-life care that reflects their values, priorities and beliefs. A cornerstone of that effort is our commitment to eliminating bias, discrimination and racism within end-of-life care.

While healthcare disparities are not new, the pandemic has increased awareness of the persistent, systemic inequities with healthcare in this country. As individuals and as an organization, we are committed to doing all we can to achieve justice and equity at life’s end.
